One month to go and today we had the final meeting with all OICs and interested Military department heads.
A total of 24 people around the table!
Everything is on track for a really good event.
Publicity started on Monday, with BFBS starting their media campaign for us.
All the ticket outlets have their allocation of tickets and we have even sold our first tickets on-line.
Now it is up to you. Please buy your tickets and tell your friends about it as well.

We now have a sponsor for the event. Although we were looking at having several sponsors each giving a little money, The deVere Group stumped up the whole lot. This is good news as nearly all the money raised will go to help local cases and projects. This also gives us the assurance that we won't need to use previous charitable donations to fund Party in the Park. To find out about the deVere Group log onto www.devere-group.com

Some very exciting news has been received. If any of you went to Pissouri Rock 2010 you will have seen, probably the best rock singer in the world, Rick Mort, guesting with No Off Switch.
Well Rick enjoyed the night so much he has agreed to fly out from the UK just to sing with them for one night at Party in the Park. If you didn't see Rick last year, make sure you don't miss him this year!

The organisation is moving on a pace now. The third band has now been booked. They are called Hitched and we were very impressed with their set on Sunday at a Charity concert in Paphos.
Their song list runs to about 100 songs from the 1960s to right up to 2010!
More good news; Chris Pearson and Wes Thompson from BFBS will be bringing along some tunes to play from the start of the event and will be with us all evening. For the youngsters, the Fun Bus will be with us, along with Face Painters and two bouncy castles. More kids attractions are in the pipeline.
11 Feb 2011.
We have been busy this week. The Admin Plan has been published and we have got all 10 OICs in place, so the organisation can really get going.
We have confirmed a second band for the night - The Rockhoppers. They are a Rock and Roll Band and will make sure everyone is up and jiving. Sodexo have confirmed they will run two bars for us, so no one should go thirsty.
On Sunday Rick and I will be going to see a posible third band play and if they are as good as we have been told, we will try and book them for you.
03 Feb 2011.
We now have 9 OICs on our list, I hope to get the last volunteer in the next few days.
We have a photograper flying out from the UK just for the weekend at no cost to us.
He will take all the publicity shots for the press and our sponsors. We also launched the event on Facebook today and people have already clicked on "Attending".
28 Jan 2011.
Another good day. Two more SSAFA Voluteers have agreed to be OICs. Only three to go. I have arranged a meeting for Sunday with the Car Parking OIC at his house in Souni, but as it will be conducted over a Sunday Roast I am sure I can manage. It will seem strange reading this blog back in the summer talking of Roast Dinners while it's pouring with rain outside and the fire on in the house trying to keep warm.
27 Jan 2011.
Its been a good day. Three sucessfull meetings and we have now persuaded a total five people that they really want to volunteer to be OICs. Just another five to go.
Also spent time with Rick the webmaster to finalise plans for this website. Apparently I need to do a Blog.. So here it is.
25 Jan 2011.
My Deputy and I decide we need to break down the work load into 10 different sections, with an Officer in Charge (OIC) for each section. 2 hours later we have our first volunteer OIC. Just 9 to go!!!
24 Jan 2011.
First meeting between all interested military parties and main SSAFA organisers. I had forgotton about Health & Safety and other requirements that are just not that important in the Republic of Cyprus. Came out of that meeting with a slight headache and a loooooong To Do list.
19 Jan 2011.
Formal permission to hold event received. Background work already in hand.
16 Nov 2010.
Episkopi Station Commander Lt Col Bob Pickford formally approached for permission to hold the event at the Athletic's Track in Happy Valley.
26 Oct 2010.
SSAFA Branch Committee agree to host the event.
03 Oct 2010.
After the cancellation of Pissouri Pop Party earlier in the year, SSAFA decided to try again at a new venue.
